In the above image you see someone holding a candle in their hands. This post is directly relative to the five dimensions of living existence (please see What are the five dimensions of living existence? in 'The Basics' and how they go together. You have the physical forms of a candle and hands in one dimension, illuminated by light energy (another dimension) which you identify as a 'candle' and 'someone's hands' (another dimension) surrounded by space (consciousness) and spirit, which are the other two of the five dimensions.
If you take away the candle you will have darkness, and may have to rely on other senses to perceive that another person is there. But if we put a screen such as a curtain or a wall between you and that person so you don't hear them breathing chances are you will still be able to sense this other person being in your presence.
My point here is that you have all five dimensions of life interacting and interconnected with one another in relationship. You cannot see light. You can only see light by perceiving physical form relative to space. If there are no physical forms there would only be space and you would not be able to perceive light. This is just one example which is true for the other senses. Another example is sound energy. Sound energy is the energy vibrations which connects a vibrating physical object to your ear drum and sensory perception.
Understand that the sound or noise is in a different dimension to the physical form - the energy dimension - but to be able to perceive this physical dimension you need physical forms in relationship to a sensory system. The same relationship is constant between all the three physical dimensions with regard to other senses - such as smell, taste and touch. Consider everything you touch gives off an energy vibration. What feels hard to you is simply an energy vibration of a higher frequency, for example when you place your hand on a table top. It's also constant with the other senses we have, pain, hunger, thirst, balance and so on. For example hunger is a sensation in relationship between your digestive system and your sensory nervous system.
