The Zebra Puzzle is the term I've given to one of life's greatest conundrums. There's two parts to this conundrum and it relates to our existence.
Reincarnation and the impermanence of physical form
Reincarnation is part of our reality and means a great deal more than just life after death. Your physical body is essentially a pattern which is based on a vibration. All your biological cells replace themselves throughout short periods in your life. Some say it's a matter of weeks or months, others say it's over the course of a few years.
Either way you probably don't know how many times your physical body has reincarnated itself throughout the course of your life time, or even how many physical bodies you have had. Furthermore you don't know how many bodies you have in this life cycle or incarnation. How many more times is your body going to reincarnate and reinvent itself before you shuffle off the mortal coil and kick the bucket?
The perceived permanence of your life experience
Okay..so if your physical body and brain is so impermanent, then how can you remember your childhood? How can say someone who is aged 60 clearly remember their first days at school some 55 years previously?
Keep in mind that there's nothing in your brain or body which can be identified as consciousness. Consciousness is something outside your physical body.
Consciousness can only exist in the mind, which is space - the space which surrounds you. There's thousands of different parts of the brain, but not one has so far been identified as the mind. Therefore mind is not something exclusive or personal to you. You do not speak a language that nobody else understands. I'm assuming that you don't see other things other people cannot see, or hear things which other people cannot hear. What you call your mind is actually your perspective because mind is something we all share.
But see there's the other side of this. There is also precognition. How can you state that something will happen in the future and that what you predicted actually happens? How do you explain the phenomena of deja vu and coincidence?
This is what I refer to as the Zebra Puzzle.
