We're coming up to the first quarter of the century of the 21st century. This is where I'm going to make my call. Just as fascism was the major global issue of the 20th century, the Profit Incentive is going to be the major global issue of the 21st century.
It's not that we lack anything to address the growing number of social, economic and environmental issues. We have the people, the technology, the space, the resources and the finances to create solutions and new ideas. But the issue is that coming up with a solution or an idea is not enough. The criteria has changed to that where any new idea or new solution to anything also has to make money and make someone rich. The Profit Incentive is the barrier and the hurdle. Any solution or idea has to be commercially viable and capable of generating a profit. Otherwise it's not a solution or a viable idea.
"Where is the money going to come from?"
This is the first and immediate response to any new idea, solution or innovation. Unless the criteria for profitability and commercial viability is reached, nothing takes off and it is junked.
If you cannot answer the above question and show how money can be made, together with profit, then the response is that "We're just going to keep doing what we're doing, let everything slide, and Devil take the loser."
