The philosophy of laziness

Most people have a negative connotation to laziness. This is because the current global philosophy appears to be that work and 'having' a job is essential to even basic participation in society. Politicians and the media have developed a whole narrative around benefit scroungers, moochers, bums and layabouts. Indeed there is a war on worklessness and part of the job description of a politician is to come up with ways to coerce, push, 'persuade' or find other means, up to and including the threat of destitution and starvation, to get as many people working in jobs as possible.
This mindset of work, work, and more work comes with negative consequences. It creates countless opportunities for exploitation and also - for those who've had their fingers burned, usually in fast food, retail, or some other sector, a fear of being exploited. But this is not the only consequence. Another major consequernce of all this emphasis on work and having a job is a widespread subculture of incompetence.
This comes from a widespread notion that we have to be productive, that life has a purpose, that there has to be some objective, goal, and that in order to be successful you need to be highly motivated and 'driven' to get anywhere in life. This is - pardon my crudeness here - complete and utter bollocks. There is no purpose to life, just as there is no purpose to this planet or the universe. Existence doesn't need a purpose, it is what it is. The universe exists simply because - no explanation needed. For the exact same reason you don't need to explain or justify your existence in any way. You exist, and others either have to accept you as you are, or do one.
Which brings us to laziness, without the negative connotations, or as I call it the philosophy of laziness. Laziness is a very fundamental part of what dream weaving is all about. It's also - as you will become aware of by the end - a necessary part of life. Keep in mind here that mindfulness, enlightenment, and conscious awareness are not things you have to achieve. These are all things you have been born with.
